The world's shortest man Chandra Dangi from Nepal has died. He became the shortest man alive by guiness book of world records, He died from pneumonia in a US hospital yesterday September 4th at age 75. He had been sick in his home which he was treating but had traveled to the US for work where he was rushed to the hospital after his symptoms worsened

Davis’ chances in court aren’t good, but if she is found in contempt, that may represent a strange kind of victory for her supporters. “There may be an effort here to create martyrs,” Jennifer C. Pizer of the gay-rights group Lambda Legal told the Times. Davis’ opponents, for their part, are practicing the Christian the value of forgiveness: They’ve asked that she only receive fines, not time in prison, for her legal sins.

Syrian man selling pens on street to feed his daughter become a trend on twitter and earns $37k after picture goes viral

 More than $37k has been raised in just 11 hours to support a Syrian refugee pictured selling pens in Beirut while carrying his sleeping daughter.

In the heartbreaking images, the man offers out a handful of biros, clutching a plastic bag of more pens while his little daughter sleeps wrapped over his shoulder.  The photos of the father and child went viral after they were posted two days ago on Twitter by activist Gissur Simonarson.

He was then inundated with requests to help the man and so Gissur, based in Norway, announced he was going to try to find him.

He launched a Twitter account named #BuyPens and within 30 minutes, someone on Twitter contacted Gissur saying he saw the man every day around his house.

Incredibly, twenty-four hours later the man and his daughter were identified as single dad-of-two Abdul and his daughter Reem, four and a half.

Gissi launched a crowdfunding page to raise money to help Abdul start a new life for his family.
Amazingly, in the first 30 minutes Gissur's goal of $5,000 was raised.

He wrote: "We have reached my goal of $5,000 in the first 30 min.
"This was never meant as a cap, just something to start with.


"Let's make sure that Abdul and Reem can really start a great new life.

"All extra donations will of course go directly to them as well."

The fundraising total has reached more than $37,859 in 11 hours and continues to go up.

 

Governor Ambode shuts down 22 churches in Lagos Over acclaimed noise making

22 churches have been shut down for acclaimed noisy worship in Lagos state. The head of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, Adebola Shabi, who disclosed this yesterday August 27 th, said the agency shut down the churches following a series of complaints of disturbance by residents of the area where the churches are located.

“On my phone alone, I get 20 SMS on a daily basis. In the next five years, if there is no stringent policy on the siting of religious houses, there will be problem. With the enforcement today, we would have sealed about 55 premises because the last enforcement we carried out, we shut 33 premises. I gave approval for closure of 22 premises today, making 55”Neighbours of one church, Jesus Our Lord Divine Catholic Prayer Ministry, said they were constantly disturbed by a congregation of mainly pregnant women, young mothers and their children. Shabi said the churches would be allowed to reopen after paying fines starting from N50,000.

A mother who poisoned her five-year-old son to drive traffic to her blog has been jailed for 20 years for killing him.
Lacey Spears, 27, from New York, blogged about her son Garnett’s ‘mystery illness’ on her blog, ‘Garnett’s Journey’.

In fact she was giving him lethally high doses of salt.

‘By not imposing the maximum, I’m exhibiting something you didn’t show your son – namely mercy,’ said Judge Robert Neary.

‘Your crime is unfathomable in its cruelty. How could a mother ever treat her child in such a callous, inhumane manner?’

Assistant District Attorney Doreen Lloyd called Garnett a normal and healthy boy made ill by his mother in ‘bizarre need for attention’.

‘She used that feeding tube as a weapon to kill him. Garnett Spears should be in school today but he’s not – because his mother murdered him.’
Spears was described as having Munchausen by proxy, a syndrome where the caregiver fabricates a medical problem for someone in their care.
Garnett’s father was killed in a car accident.

A big rat in my house disappeared in my very own eyes

 Hello JNB fans, please can you explain this situation to me, there is this huge rat in my house, I guess it entered from the backyard while I was in the kitchen, the surprising thing here is that this rat is always quite, while the other smaller rat disturb, this particular "big light brown" doesn't

Just day before yesterday I made sure my kitchen door was properly close, so it doesn't find is way to the living room, but something strange happened, you won't believe I'm still in shock uptil now.
Day before yesterday morning, I heard the rat disturbing in the kitchen by scattering unwashed plates, I took a touch and I carefully opened the kitchen door, as soon as I did, the rat ran to hide itself, I called my siblings to join me in chasing the rat out.

We turned the whole kitchen upside down in search of the rat, we remove every thing in the kitchen and couldn't find the rat that I saw ran into a hide out. I checked if there was a hole it might have escaped through but on thorough search I found none.
I was so scared, did the rat I saw disappeared in my very own eyes... am still amazed at the incident. Please JNB readers clear me up is this a thing to be concerned about, is the an evil rat and did it really disappear ???

ABia born Man cut off wife's hand for cheating on him

ABIA—Man, Jacob Nwachukwu , has cut off his wife’s left hand over allegation of infidelity "she cheated on me"

The man’s wife, Mrs Nwadiokeonu Nwachukwu, is now at a hospital in Aba, while her severed hand had been taken to her husband’s village at Abala for burial.

The incident happened, Monday, at Ogbor Hill Area of Aba, where the woman had lived for years, while the husband lived at their Abala village.
A female co-tenant of Mrs Nwachukwu, who craved anonymity, told Vanguard that the couple had lived in the city for years before the husband lost his job and had to relocate to the village, leaving his wife, a trader, in the city.

She said: “The couple had always quarrelled any time the man visited his wife in the city, to the extent that all the tenants are aware and intervened in their quarrels.”

The man was said to have visited the wife on the day and during their usual quarrel, brought out a machete, cut off the wife’s hand and left with it to thevillage, while neighbours rushed her to the hospital.

It was gathered that Mr. Nwachukwu’s intention was to kill his wife with the machete but missed the target as the woman was said to have used the severed hand to defend herself.

The suspected lover of the woman is said to be on the run, while her landlord reported the incident to a police station close to the hospital along Ogbor Hill, where the woman is currently on admission.

Area Commander, Aba Police Command, Mr. Peter Wabara, in a response to a text message, said the incident was yet to be reported to him.
However, a police officer at Ogbor Hill Police Station, confirmed the incident and said investigation into the matter had commenced.
